Licensing Questions & Answers
If I buy a license, will it expire?
No, your license is permanent and will never expire. Minor version upgrades are always free, while major version upgrades are heavily discounted.
How does the single-user license work?
Single-user licenses can be used by a single individual on a single computer. If Duplicate File Detective is to be used by more than one person, or installed on multiple computers, you will need separate licenses for each user / installation combination. We offer discounts on multiple single-user license purchases. We also offer site-wide, country-wide, and enterprise licenses that allow for unlimited users and installations within a specific geographic scope (see below).
How does site-wide licensing work?
Site-wide licenses support an unlimited number of users and installations within a single geographic site or city.
How does country-wide licensing work?
Country-wide licenses support an unlimited number of users and installations within the country identified by the address indicated during the license key purchase process.
How does enterprise licensing work?
Enterprise licenses support an unlimited number of users and installations anywhere in the world.
I've lost my license key. Can you send it to me?

Are license upgrades free?
Minor version upgrades (e.g. v8.1 to v8.2) are free, while major version upgrades (e.g. v7.x to v8.x) are heavily discounted. If you'd like to upgrade to the current major version of Duplicate File Detective, please see our upgrade page.
What is your return policy?
Because we make a fully functional trial version of Duplicate File Detective available to all users at no cost, Key Metric Software does not accept returns for product license purchases. If you need more time to evaluate Duplicate File Detective prior to licensing, please email us.
