Preview

The Preview docking panel allows users to preview the contents of supported image, document, text, and multimedia files. To preview a supported file, simply select it within the main report detail view. Previews load in the background, so browsing large files never blocks the application.

The Preview window hosts several discrete components:

1. An image viewer - Displays BMP, GIF, ICO, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, EMF, WMF, WebP, and JPEG XR image files. HEIC / HEIF / AVIF and camera RAW formats (DNG, CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, ORF, RW2, RAF, SRW, PEF) are also displayed when the matching (freely available) Windows codec extensions are installed.
2. An SVG viewer - Renders scalable vector graphics (.svg) files.
3. A PDF document preview - Renders the first page of PDF documents.
4. A text preview control - Shows a line-based partial preview of text-based files, including plain text and logs (.txt, .log), data formats (.csv, .xml, .json, .yaml, .toml), configuration files (.ini, .conf, .cfg, .env, .reg, .properties), scripts (.bat, .cmd, .ps1, .sh, .vbs, .sql), Markdown, HTML/CSS, and common source code formats (C/C++, C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Ruby, Go, Rust, Swift, Kotlin, and more).
5. An embedded instance of Windows Media Player - Plays a broad range of audio and video formats, including MP3, MP4, M4A, WAV, WMA, WMV, AVI, MPEG, MOV, MKV, WebM, FLAC, AAC, OGG, and Opus.

Note: The Preview window will not attempt to open files with a size greater than that defined in the advanced tab of the settings window.

If the Preview window cannot provide a preview of a file (for any reason), it will instead show the file's Windows shell icon. The preview pane can be disabled entirely via the General settings tab ("Enable preview window").
